How To Build
A Business Website For Profit
Every online entrepreneur
should build a business website
eventually.
It’s a great way to put all your products and ideas out
there, for the whole internet to see. You can get free
traffic from search engines or viral marketing, and
make tons of money in the process.
If you have a
successful Ebay store and you sell all your
merchandise there, you will be paying Ebay tons of money in
fees and missing out on all the customers who don’t shop on
Ebay. If you only market
your Cafepress
store, you’ll miss out on customers that don’t
shop at Cafepress, and miss out on the marketing power of
your own website, which you could direct to your Cafepress
store.
Learning how to build a
businees website is one of the wisest choices
you’ll make online. However,
you can’t just throw together a website and expect it to
start pulling in money for you.
You need traffic… targeted
traffic.
In my opinion, the very
best way to bring traffic to your website is through the
search engines.
It’s free traffic and it’s highly
targeted.
You won’t have to worry about advertising expenses or
costly listing fees. This takes some
time to start being profitable, but keep in mind that there are
some other methods we can use to give your traffic a quick
boost.
Although there are other
choices, the best way for beginners is
Site_Build_It
by
SiteSell.
This is an outstanding web host and internet marketing
company that truly cares about your
success.
This package
has free tracking, free domain, free brainstorming and
keyword software, free newsletter capabilities, free
marketing lessons, and much more!

hosts.
Sitesell is great for
beginners, but more experienced website owners find that
it's not as flexible as they would like it to
be.
If you would rather not
buy the package from Sitesell, there are cheaper web
hosts out there.
I personally haven’t used many so I’ll just tell you
about the ones I have had experience
with.
-
A Small
Orange -
Decent prices, reliable, super quick customer
service, very little downtime so
far
-
Dreamhost
- Great prices, no cpanel so it might look a bit
confusing to some people, they don't have Fantastico which
is a disappointment to me. Also not compatible with
JVManager.
-
Yahoo
- More expensive pricing, very reliable, customer
service a little
slow
-
Sitesell
- More expensive pricing, lots of help with your
website and marketing, many other tools provided with
hosting, should be used only by
beginners
You will also need a
domain name.
GoDaddy is the most widely used
company and they have pretty good pricing. However, many
internet marketers prefer Namecheap as it's safer for their business and
costs less in the long run. You may be thinking "but
if I sign up with a web host they’ll usually give a
free domain registration."
The free domain registration with hosting is not worth
signing up for. Setting up an account with Namecheap will
help you to better organize your domains and it's better
protection for your business.
You can use any
practically any website builder you want with these
hosts.
Yahoo comes with a very easy to use Site
builder.
I have just made the switch from Microsoft Front Page to
XSitePro and I love it! If you're interested in getting
XSitePro (which makes SEO, building and organization much
easier for you) then buy it from James' Shramko's
site. You'll
get some invaluble bonuses to dramatically cut your learning
curve.
Some cheaper options
are:
These are the very basics of what you'll be needing to build a
business website for yourself. With a little planning and
effort your website could turn into a very profitable asset for
you.
