How To
Earn Money From Your Web Site
I'm sure that after
reading our article about building a business
site, you're pretty
excited and ready to get started. However, we have
some planning to do first. Don't even buy a domain
name yet, because I have a simple process I recommend you go
through, that will best help you to earn money from your web
site.
If you chose
Sitesell , they will walk you through this process
better than I ever could, so you can skip this
section.
If you chose a different
web host, you’ll need to pick a subject for your
site.
Aim for a strong niche subject that you know a lot
about.
Pick a few so you can narrow them
down.
For example:
-
Jack Russell
dogs
-
Games for
kids
-
African American hair
care
-
Fixing
motorcycles
-
Etc.
Ken Evoy (owner
of
Sitesell ) has a teenage daughter who built her entire
site about Anguilla_Beaches
.
If you click on that link, you can see that her website
is far from pretty, but it’s simple, easy to navigate, and
makes pretty good money. One of the reasons
that her website makes money is because she's passionate about
Anguilla beaches, so pick a subject you actually care
about.
Once
you have a little more experience you can start targetting
niches that are outside of your personal interests, if you
should see the need to. I however, have ventured
outside of my personal interests only
once. Today that niche only makes me a
few hundred a month, and my other sites that I'm more
interested in are earning quite a bit more. As you can
see, sticking to topics that are fun for you can net
thousands of dollars
each month.
After you pick a few
possible website subjects, consider the
following:
-
Can I write at least 50
different articles about or related to this subject?
If you're niche is too narrow you may run out of things to
write about. Some sites can do well with fewer
articles, but speaking from experience - I prefer to build
larger sites because they're more profitable. All my
websites that have over 50 articles are consistent
earners.
-
Do I have too much
competition? The smaller your niche, the less
competition you should have. Having some competition
in the market is healthy and it means that your niche is
actually profitable, but overly crowded markets (like
internet marketing, penis enlargement and gambling) are a
little tougher to break
into.
-
Will people be searching
for information about this subject on the internet?
If only a few people are interested in this subject you're
wasting your time.
-
Do the people searching
for this information have money to spend? If you're
targetting lazy teens without a care in the world then you
probably aren't going to make much money off of
them.
-
What
keywords/words/phrases will they type into the search
engines to search for information about my subject?
This is what brings in the
cash.
