3.
Go to
Alibaba, iOffer, or Liquidation.com and buy some
brand new items to add to your mystery box. They have great prices on
these sites. When
doing this, you have to be VERY careful of international
sellers. Be
cautious when buying from these sites. Always pay with a credit card
or Paypal so that you’re fully protected in case you need to
make a charge-back.
4.
Go to a store
nearby and check out the clearance items. A good place to look is
Wal-Mart or in Outlet stores. This isn't the best choice,
but you can still make a profit if you plan it
right.
5.
Buy from a
wholesaler.
Again,
World Wide Brands can supply you with
a list of legitimate wholesalers selling just about everything
you could ever want. Buying in bulk will sometimes
give you quantity discounts, but the merchandise can get pretty
expensive.
Listing mystery
auctions takes some time to get used to. You want to guarantee that
you make a profit, yet make your customer so happy that they
feel they got the deal of the century. When customers are
satisfied, there's a good chance that they'll return for
more mystery auctions, and leave great feedback (which
attracts even more customers.)
I find I have the
greatest success by selling high priced mystery
boxes. Start
the bidding low ($9.99) because your auction looks more
valuable when it has a lot of bidders.
Start with a plan on
what you would like to include. As the bidding goes up,
you add more merchandise and cash – and you can state this
in your auction. Well listed mystery
auctions will always get bids, so you won't have to worry
about losing out, as you control what goes into the mystery
box according to what the bidder pays.
Always pick good stuff
that you know people will want. Find out the retail value
of your items and include that as a selling point in your
auction. The
goal is to make your customer feel like they got a GREAT
deal.
It's important that
you research the completed mystery auctions and read Ebay’s
rules before listing anything. Find
examples of sellers who have had successful
auctions. These
auctions will require some planning, but it gets easier once
you’re used to it.
Put a lot of emphasis
on the fact that you're not scamming them in any
way. Let your
bidders know that you have brand new, shiny, quality
merchandise that they would have to pay a lot more
for if they bought it in a store.
IMPORTANT Ebay selling
secret: Never offer cash prizes to bidders who hit a certain
mark. Only the
winning bidder should receive a
prize/package.
Bidders will take advantage of the bidder gift offer, and
sometimes back out of paying should they happen to win
the auction.
I've also heard of
sellers offering cash prizes to random people watching the
auction. Giving
away cash prizes to watchers is a smart way to get on a
bidder's good side. They might just save you
to their favorite sellers, and you could make the
pulse.
Have fun with this
Ebay selling tip. You can make a lot of money with
this method.
