Are You An Irritating Marketer?

Don't get mad just yet, I didn't mean to offend you.

It's just that I noticed about a half dozen people that I've bought something from do things that seriously get on my nerves.  Most marketers are a pleasure to buy from, but select few make me grit my teeth.

Here are some examples of what I'm talking about:

-  Forcing me to enter unnecessary contact information and later calling me on the phone or sending me snail mail - neither of which I requested or gave permission for.  What makes it even worse is that all they're trying to do is sell me more of their stuff!

- Offering a free download, which leads me to a 10 page long OTO that's hardly even related to the topic of the free report.  Then after I decide not to purchase and click on their tiny "No, I understand that I'm missing out on the greatest resale rights package of junk ever" link, they take me to another page offering the exact same thing.

- E-mailing me after a purchase and telling me that the item I ordered is backordered and will take an additional 3 weeks to ship.  This wouldn't piss me off so bad if their description didn't say "IN STOCK, BUY NOW!"

- EBay sellers who constantly send me reminders to leave them feedback when my buying experience was pretty terrible.  I once bought and paid for a 22 page report.  This report was supposed to be printed out and shipped to me (and by the way, I paid $6 for shipping), but the seller never shipped it.  Instead he nagged me to leave him feedback.  I told him I had never received the report for the second time and he responded with an "okay, I'll ship it to you tomorrow... please leave me feedback".  It never arrived and he got the feedback he so desperately wanted - but it was negative.

-> Refusing to refund my money after I bought your 3 pages of fluff for $97 dollars.  The marketer who did this to me gave me some serious attitude and tried to imply that I was stupid because I didn't agree with him.

If you're going to sell something online, please remember your manners and learn some good customer service skills!  I know that most sellers do just fine in the customer service department, but we could all use a little reminder from time to time.
